da winzada777: On Tuesday against Switzerland a huge weight was lifted of Wayne Rooney’s shoulders as he finally overtook Bobby Charlton as the all-time top scorer for England and yet there is still pressure and speculation around the England captain.
da bet vitoria: Rooney has been prolific ever since he scored against Macedonia in 2003 all those years ago. Despite this, however many goals he has scored, people have overlooked his importance to the England team.
Many factors have pushed even the most faithful and patriotic England fans to doubt Rooney, one being his lack of goals against top nations. But like in any qualifying game you can only beat – or in Rooney’s case score – against what you are put up against.
As far as scoring at tournaments is concerned Rooney has failed to produce and must improve along with all his England teammates who deserve as much blame as Rooney. Although it is a fact that only 6 out of 50 Rooney goals have come in major tournaments, it is hard to score improve this when you only play three or four games per tournament before going out.
This then beckons another factor that makes people refuse to fully congratulate Rooney’s record and really ask questions of Rooney’s greatness as an England player. This is that Rooney, despite all his talent and leadership skills, still has failed to win an important competition or at least have a decent run in a World cup or Euros. Even though there is little excuse or place to hide for anyone in the England side, and especially not for Rooney who has received the brunt of scrutiny for England’s failure, you have to say England as a nation has to improve.
So unless Rooney wins or improves at a major tournament with England, it seems he will never get the individual glory he deserves until his career is over.
