He told Denmark's BT on Wednesday: "Christian is still ambitious and has a lot to give to a bigger league. I can easily see him playing in his home country in the future, but I think for now it will only be for the national team."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Eriksen snubbed Major League Soccer and Saudi Pro League moves last year to stay at United but now that he is not being offered a new Old Trafford deal, a switch to Mallorca in La Liga could be on the cards. The Spanish top-flight is a first-rate league, so perhaps that would satisfy the Denmark international's ambition.

The soon-to-be free agent, who has had just under three years at United, will have a brief break before featuring for Denmark in their upcoming matches against Northern Ireland and Lithuania on June 7 and 10, respectively.
