da heads bet: Manchester United are open to offering Luke Shaw to Tottenham Hotspur in a deal for Danny Rose, according to the Daily Record.
What’s the word?
da cassino online: It is not the first time that United have been linked to the left-back this year, but Rose’s future at Spurs looks a little bleak following his recent comments.
In an interview with the Sun, the England international suggested that he deserves more money than the current reported £70,000-a-week wages that he earns.
Rose also questioned Tottenham’s ambition and admitted that he wants to one day play for a Northern club to be closer to his family.
United manager Jose Mourinho is believed to still be in the market for new arrivals, and the Daily Record claims that Rose is on his radar.
The publication states that the club would consider offloading Shaw in a player-plus-cash deal.
Should Tottenham consider it?
If Shaw had had a stellar season at Old Trafford during the 2016-17 campaign, then yes.
However, the 22-year-old had a handful of injury problems and he was publicly criticised by Mourinho over his fitness and dedication.
Rose has been on the sidelines with a knee injury for nine months, but before then, he was performing consistently and over the years has become a regular member of the first team at Spurs.
Swapping the two players would be a huge risk for the North London outfit, who have already lost right-back Kyle Walker to Manchester City.
Shaw has bags of potential, but since suffering a double leg fracture in 2015, he has struggled to rediscover top form.
In addition, it would not be the wisest move from Tottenham to strengthen another one of their rivals.
