da 888: The majority of Arsenal’s season during the 2016-17 campaign was dominated by rumours over Arsene Wenger’s future, and it seems that the spotlight continues to shine on the Frenchman.
da lvbet: After signing a new two-year contract in the summer, Wenger probably thought that he had some breathing room before his future was discussed again, but he was wrong.
Arsenal’s poor start to the season has resulted in every fan and media outlet zoning in on the 67-year-old, who has been in charge of the Gunners for two decades.
The North London club have picked up just three points from a possible nine following one win and two defeats in the Premier League so far this season.
Their most recent loss came at Anfield before the international break when they were convincingly beaten 4-0 by Liverpool.
Critics ripped into the players’ performances and questions over whether Wenger should have left the club in the summer were asked.
Kolo Toure, who played under the Frenchman for seven years at Arsenal, has given his assessment on the situation and believes that his former manager is tough enough to ride the storm.
The former Liverpool defender told Sky Sports News:
“It’s a tough situation because Arsenal haven’t won the league for a long time now, even though they’ve won the FA Cup a few times. There’s a lot of pressure on Mr. Wenger but, the thing is, Mr. Wenger loves Arsenal. He’s done amazing for the club. He’s working with his heart. He’s been there so long and, for me, when I was there, we worked very well and won the league. That was the best time. Right now it’s tough but Mr. Wenger is a fighter.”
